The disciples running from the angry crowd remind us that being true to Christ may sometimes mean retreating with faith, not fear. They did not run from their calling, but to preserve it. In a world that often rejects truth, we may face moments when we, too, are misunderstood or mistreated.

The Savior warned His disciples that destruction would come to Jerusalem. His words were not meant to cause fear, but to help them understand that spiritual safety is found in following Him. Sometimes, the Lord asks us to leave behind places or people that would harm our faith.

The man in prison looks upward toward a light that others cannot see. That light represents the quiet assurance that God is still there. When all else is stripped away, endurance becomes an act of worship. To endure to the end is to trust that the Lord’s promises are sure, even when the night feels long.
